A life changing treatment
What is Scalp Micropigmentation?
Scalp Micropigmentation at CHIC Med-Aesthetic Clinics is a technique that creates a stubble-like look using tiny dots of specially formulated pigment. It’s so convincing that often people have to feel the scalp before they believe there’s no real hair.
Who is an ideal candidate for Scalp Micropigmentation?
Scalp micropigmentation can be carried out on someone who is completely bald or on men and women with thinning hair. The technique on thinning hair provides a fuller look, so that you no longer see thin patches with the scalp showing through.
It can also be used to camouflage scars on the scalp, example following a hair transplant or a trauma scar.
Who carries out the treatment at CHIC Med-Aesthetic Clinics?
Treatment is carried out by a specially qualified therapist with years of experience in semi-permanent pigment procedures.
Does it hurt?
There is minimal discomfort. We do apply a topical anaesthetic: some clients feel nothing except a scratching sensation.
Does it look natural?
Yes! We follow the natural hairline as best as possible to achieve a very natural look which will suit any individual.
What if I don’t like it?
You have total control. No procedure is started without us drawing the treatment area and showing you the desired hairline. Thus, you can be sure that you will know what the final result will look like.
How long does it last?
It may last up to 3 to 5 years. It is difficult to predict how long it will last on each individual. The colour will eventually fade over time and will just need a colour top up. You may like to have a top up at time intervals to make the look fresher and well-defined.
What colour should I use?
Colour is chosen and determined with the professional therapist. We do recommend that colour is slightly darker due to losing 30% of the colour by the 3rd or 4th week.
Will I have crust after treatment?
Yes, the skin will produce crust where procedure was done. Although, crust is very minimal as treated areas are very tiny; crust is bearably visible thus individuals can carry on with their normal life routine.
How can I prepare skin for Scalp Micropigmentation treatment?
Before arriving, we recommend that you make sure you are clean and bathed. Please refrain from using any gel or hair style products.
What kind of needles are used for the procedure?
We ONLY use special disposable sterile needles and tube that will be opened in front of you prior to commencement of procedure. CHIC is primarily a medical centre and we take pride in promoting safety and sanitation.
Will the ink turn blue or green?
The pigments we use to replicate natural hair colour are very reputable by Ecuri. Naturally, the colours can and will lighten and soften over time, so in the long-term it may be necessary to undergo additional refreshing treatments.
How long does the procedure take?
The procedure duration depends upon size of treated area and severity of hair loss. Approximately, such procedure lasts around 4-5 hours. Around 3 sessions with 4 to 6 weeks in between are normally recommended for best results.
