What are dermal fillers?
Facial volume loss, due to decreased collagen, elastin fibres and hyaluronic acid, is one of the key factors in the ageing process. Dermal fillers can help to replenish this lost volume and rejuvenate the face. Dermal fillers can also enhance the shape of the face or to lift the face non-surgically. Common areas for treatment with dermal fillers include lips, cheeks, chin, nasolabial folds, mouth corners, and wrinkles (static wrinkles).

What will my experience be like?
During a consultation with the doctor, we will discuss and advise you on the best filler and treatment areas for you, after a careful aesthetic assessment. We will outline the amount of fillers required, the price, the side effects and the after-care required.
Treatment may sometimes involve the application of topical local anaesthetic cream and the dermal filler is comfortably injected into the treated area. Treatment times vary depending on the amount of fillers required and the areas treated, but generally take from 15 to 30 minutes. The filler effects are immediate although there might be some swelling and redness which usually subsides within two days. After treatment, it is possible to apply make-up if applicable, and to go about your normal activities. We however usually advise you to refrain from heavy exercise.
The effects of dermal fillers are long-lasting, usually exceeding one year. We will call you in for a free review after 2 weeks to see whether any touch ups are required to get the best results.
